Meet Dr. Jimena Laporta, Assistant Professor of Lactation Physiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Originally from Uruguay, Dr. Laporta holds a B.S. in Biology, an M.S. in Animal Science, and a Ph.D. in Dairy Science from UW-Madison. Her research, blending mammary gland physiology with management, genetics, and nutrition, aims to tackle challenges in dairy cattle, including environmental stressors, metabolic disorders, and immune suppression. With her expertise, Dr. Laporta is pioneering in developing management practices and interventions to enhance dairy cattle health and productivity outcomes.
